This page provides information on compatibility between different versions of Geo SCADA, Windows Operating Systems and browser software. Use this information during the upgrade process to determine whether your current installation environment is compatible with newer versions of Geo SCADA.

NOTE 2 - Server Components - Limited 32-bit OS Support: 64-bit OS versions are recommended as 32-bit OS has limited server component support.

Starting in Geo SCADA 2019, Virtual ViewX server (deployed through IIS) require a 64-bit OS to install the necessary server components and the server is not supported on Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Virtual ViewX may be used only on these Operating System Versions:

• Windows Server 2022 (Standard and Datacenter editions)  But see Note 5.
• Windows Server 2019 (Standard and Datacenter editions) 
• Windows Server 2016 (Standard and Datacenter editions)
• Windows Server 2012 R2 (Standard and Datacenter editions)
• Windows 11 (Professional and Enterprise editions - but Server is recommended)
• Windows 10 (Professional and Enterprise editions - but Server is recommended)

NOTE 3 - Windows 10 Version: 

Geo SCADA 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 support Windows 10 Versions from 1809 upwards.

NOTE 4 – Windows 11 is supported from Geo SCADA 2021, February 2022 Update onwards.

NOTE 5 – Virtual ViewX on Windows Server 2022 is supported from the December 2022 Monthly Update of Geo SCADA 2021 and from the first release of Geo SCADA 2022.

NOTE 6 - 'Home' versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 are not supported.

NOTE 7 - Geo SCADA 2022 is not supported on Windows Server 2012 R2 from the May 2023 update. This is because updated CefSharp components are no longer compatible with this operating system.
