The Alarm and Event printer consumes an OPC provider licence when installed. If a customer wishes to use the AE printer, an OPC connection will be required in the ClearSCADA licence.
Any accumulators upgraded from ClearSCADA 2005 to ClearSCADA 2007 will have configuration errors. This is because the accumulator object no longer supports the Percentage of Span option on the Significant Change field (the field is located on the Compression panel of the Historic tab) as configuring a percentage of span on an object with no upper limit was not appropriate. This field will need to be configured to use Absolute or Percentage of Value.
In ClearSCADA 2005, a bug in the product made it possible to have a scenario where the instances of a template were not the same as the template (taking into consideration the property overrides). In ClearSCADA 2005 the problem could be resolved by converting the template instance to be an instance of the same template. This was not ideal on large databases, but could solve the problem where it became evident.
Some very large ClearSCADA databases were exhibiting the problem on thousands of properties on objects throughout the databse. As a result, the database startup process has been improved to include a database integrity check the first time the system is run. For users upgrading their system, the first time the server is started, an integrity check will be carried out to validate the correctness of the instances and correct any problems.
This may mean that the initial upgrade of the system is significantly slower (in the order of minutes potentially depending on size of database) than would normally be the case, but will allow integrity errors to be identified and corrected, leading to improved system performance and stability.
The demo license point count for ClearSCADA 2007 has been reduced from 2000 to 625. However, the point usage of the example projects has been reduced to below 500 so this still gives the evaluation user around 100 points to use and experiment with.
At certain screen resolutions of Windows (1280*1024 or above), the forms in ClearSCADA can appear to have a different coloured bar across the bottom. This is due to a well known bug in Microsoft Common Controls 6.0 which are used by ClearSCADA.
