Updating PAS Firmware on 3/4G router(slow network) via remote VPN login

Hi team,

I have a question about updating the PAS to the latest firmware via VPN remote access.

We have a few PAS600 deployed with a 3-4G router connected and I can connect to them via OpenVPN and using remote access via SE portal. However, it is slow in uploading the file and times out.. is there another method to upload .sedp file via SFTP directly to the root of the PAS ?

I have also tried using Power Commissioning App however same issue, it timesout.

Hello,

Sometimes using Edge Management Portal (EMP) it can success, but if you have a bad connectivity you might increase your data consumptions with multiple retries.

Hi Wasabi @wasabi 

As you have already pointed out on slow network it is an obvious reason for the time out. Firmware update requires a stable, reliable & faster connectivity to the device.

As of now, SFTP in PAS is only for publication and not enabled for any file upload like FW upgrade. So its not possible to do Firmware upgrade via SFTP. (likely part of Cybersecurity reason).
