Troubleshooting LINK150 ION Protocol Passthrough on Port 7801
I am trying to use the ION Pass Through function of the Link150. Currently, I have a Link150 set to use ION Pass Through port 7801. I have noticed that after a short time period all communications to devices stops. When I reboot the Link150 all communications are working properly. Shortly after the reboot all communications again stops. For troubleshooting purposes, I removed the Link150 and connected the serial chain to my laptop using a USB converter. I am able to read data from all meters with no issues using the real-time function in ION Setup.
One thing I have observed when troubleshooting this issue is that port 7801 seems to be opening and closing. Using the simple 'telnet' command in Windows, I found the port to be open after a reboot. After a minute the port is again closed.
Has this issue with the 7801 port opening and closing been observed anywhere else?
