Re: Wiring PAS600L with NSX IFM

Hi @AAB_ALPS

The preferred gateway for IFMs is the IFE because the IFE has a specific Dataset which allows a Modbus Master to access Micrologic data more quickly. The IFE will not be replaced by the PAS600.

That being said, there are no restrictions for connecting the serial bus of IFMs to a Modbus gateway like panel server.

Note: There is a community for gateways, I suggest you post your gateway questions there.

Bests,

Mostafa

Hello @mostafa ,

IFE and IFM are sharing the same dataset, same dataset, but comm performance are better with the IFE.

Hi @Eric_HAVAS, when connecting an IFE to the ETH port of a Panel Server => Does the PAS as an Energy Server read the IFE dataset to log the data and read status ?

Same question with an IFM connected to the RS485 port of the Panel Server ?

If not: does it mean that the Panel Server is reading the Modbus registers directly in the Micrologic trip unit ?

Thanks.

Hello,

I  want to complete the previous post from @mostafa

IFE is one solution to gather IFMs and I agree with you that its is not targeted to replace IFE by Panel Server.
However some architectures Panel Server + IFM + micrologic has been also fully tested and validated to be proposed to customer. Refer to release note (link hereunder) for more details.

  • For IFE : § supported Devices/ Modbus TCP/IP Devices
  • For IFM § supported Devices/ Modbus Serial Devices

PAS600 release note: https://www.se.com/ww/en/download/document/DOCA0178EN/

PAS800 release note: https://www.se.com/ww/en/download/document/DOCA0248EN/

Depending on the architecture, this can sometimes be a competitive solution for collecting measurements in micrology.
