PAS600 Memory and CPU filling to 100% and locking-up

I have a customer with the following issue on the PAS600

 Why is the PAS600 Memory and CPU filling to 100% and locking-up?

Certainly due to communication overload.
What type of architecture? Number of devices? check the PaS release notes to be sure this architecture is supported.
Is the PaS firmware up to date?
Is the PaS used as a TRANSPARENT gateway in case of scada / Gateway / modbus device architecture?? (please refer to PaS user guide)
Is there any modbus request ? if yes what is the frequency of polling (is this frequency makes sense for customer application??), the number of data retrieved of each request?
