Meters dropping out on parent gateway

Hi,

I am currently simulating for a possible project, where several serial meters daisy chained to several PAS600 and at the end will be aggregated and logged by a PAS800L.

We have tried this using 2 PAS800L as per below scenario:

Child gateway has 4 serial meters iem3155 physically connected

Parent gateway - added the same 4 meters on the child gateway however they are dropping out and reconnecting then dropping out again.

Is there a setting we missed?

please see below screenshots. (Left is the child gateway, parent is on the right)

Thanks in advance,

Jiedan

hello @jedzruiz1985

Have you checked the modbus statistics on the parent and child gateway regarding timeout, exception codes ?

You have to tune the timeout connection on the parent PAS to allow the Child PAS to answer (modbus tcp settings) there is something in the manual.

Detection of communication is performed by the PAS every 15 s.

Kind Regards

Hello,

I would suggest x2 in the Parent =  4 vs 2 and 6 vs 3 ?

Have you checked the modbus statistics on both PAS ?

Kind Regards

Hi,

Can you elaborate what you mean when you say modbus statistics? Where to check it? is it this one please see screenshot

As I have read, I only need to change the message time outs right? or do I have to change modbus mode at the top as well?

Hello,

In maintenance page /Device communication for each device you can access modbus stats. for serial modbus details for modbus exception is not provided on the screen but are available in the diag in a txt file.

Just change the 2 and 3 on Parent PAS for Timeout to 4 and 6, no other change.
