I'd like to map modbus RTU addresses to Profibus DP using a LUFP7 Gateway.
1. Can I map custom modbus-RS485 registers to custom Profibus addresses with LUFP7?
2. Where can ABC-LUFP Config Tool programming software be downloaded from, and is it compatible with modern operating systems? (2009 documentation referred to)

The LUFP7 is a very old device (I'm even not sure whether it is still available or not) and I don't think that the software (ABC-LUF config tool) will run on new OS (maybe in compatibility mode). For this I normally run it on a Windows 7/XP VM.
It is possible to use it for custom devices that are communicating over RS485 with Modbus-RTU (see attached document that we created many years ago).
But you must be aware that one is very limited with this gateway: 128 16-bit registers max. in total for all connected slaves and each request has to be programmed. You must also be very careful with timings
Just a suggestion from me: Use Anybus X-Gateway instead. The advantage is, that it can be "programmed" over integrated web pages and if applicable in your system, it can also support Modbus-TCP with Profibus DP which means, that you can connect your devices to a simple gateway like the Link150 and communicate in parallel with the Anybus X-Gateway to the devices over the Link150. So your system stays open that the connected devices can communicate with a Modbus system like PME on one side and to a Profibus system on the other side (which is not the case with a LUFP7 where you will end on Profibus DP).
