Can an upgrade of the Smartlink A9XMSB11 firmware be done with EcoStruxure Power Commission trough a Panel Server PAS600?
I tried it yesterday with two Smartlinks, and now they are not working anymore. The leds of both Smartlinks flashes green and red alternately. The Smartlinks had both very old firmware.
(Maybe it was also because the cable between the PC and the PAS600 was a bit damaged and there was sometimes loss of communication.)

Hello,
It is possible to upgrade the firmware of a smartLink Modbus (A9XMSB11) through a panel server with the last version of EPC-D 2.26.0 (test today with success with the default value of Modbus time out in Panel server -3 seconds)
Moreover, it is also possible to repair a broken SmartLink Modbus (after an unsuccessful upgrade firmware operation) through a Panel Server with the recovery mode:

Hello,
No the reason is not your ethernet cable😊
Currently, the upgrade operation of the Smartlink A9XMSB11 with EPC through a Panel Server (PAS600 OR PAS800) are not supported and lead to the crash of the smartlink Modbus.
For the moment, the only way to recover the smartLink will be to remaster it with the old commissioning tool Smart test (More info on https://www.se.com/ww/en/faqs/FA414716/).
However to avoid the crash, we advise today to not follow the recommendation of upgrade proposed by EPC and to not upgrade the smartLink modbus through a Panel Server !
A bug is also filled for the Panel Server R&D team and investigation are in progress. I will inform asap
Our apologize for this issue.

Hi @Philippe_Morel ,
For the moment, only upgrade through Smartlink SIB is recommended. This is mentioned in the SLMB user guide.
This is a known problem. Smartlink Modbus upgrade success through other gateway is random 😞

I could repair both Smartlink by using Smart Test. It did not work with an EGX as gateway, it only did when using a direct connection (COM). I had no Smartlink Ethernet as gateway. A 'repair' button appears after waiting a very long time in the software Smart Test. The first time I tried the repair button I got an error message, but when I launched it directly after for a second time it does repair the Smarlink. This was the case for both Smarlink.

Hi @Philippe_Morel ,
The repair process with Smart Test can be random sometimes... but always worked for me.
You can also experienced some upgrade failure with direct COM connection. There are some known issue with this process.
