Hi there,
I would love to start a discussion on the merits of having ION protocol gateway support in the Com'X 200 and future gateway products.
Too often we see EGX100/300s specified and sold to customers only to then be unable to integrate ION devices through them.
With he recent announcement of the PM8000, the successor to the PM700/800 & ION73XX meters, having full ION protocol support, this protocol isn't going away any time soon.
I believe that it is short-sighted to only support Modbus when the intermediate and advanced meter offers from Schneider all support ION.
Who is with me?
Regards
Richard

I agree with Richard. This would be especially handy for the Com'X 200 with GPRS to act as a Modem/Gateway for remote sites for ION Devices as well as Modbus Devices. This would also be good if it supported ION on serial and Ethernet.

I agree with Richard on this option, this will take the gateway to the next level on applications and usability with our solution approach.

All - I just want to resurrect this thread. Now with the PM8000 being ION protocol, we need to be able to support this so that we can put these ION meters not WiFi networks and 3G networks. We are facing a huge opportunity for this right now and we are having to go to a third-party solution. Perhaps the Com'X 510 can support this non translating protocols (raw pass through). / - per my email this week.
