Hi,
Is there any limitation on the number of characters an extracted file from an EGX300?
Since we have upgraded the EGX300 with the latest firmware back in August, we have seen that limitation happening.
Therefore, file names are being truncated making the csv extension to disappear.
This is critical since without the proper extension, those files won't get converted.
Has the gateway been mis-configured?
Is this a known issue?
Please let me know!
Thanks in anticipation,
-Maxence

Hello Maxence,
Yes, there is a character limitation of 60 characters in the file name, which has always been there. The difference in the latest version is we added a feature to append the MAC Address to the filename, which manipulates the filename, apparently, incorrectly. So, to work around this issue, the devices names should be no more than 24 Characters long. We will address this issue in the next firmware release. I apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused.

Hello Maxence.
Are you using the device log exports for Energy Operation? If not, I would suggest for you to uncheck the "Append MAC Address to File Name" box until the fix is applied.

This is for Energy Operation

This could potentially impact REM as well. Not sure if it is at this time, but the REM Ops team has been informed to monitor for this problem.
As Randi & Jamie suggest, the workaround is to configure the device so that the MAC address is not appended.

Hi Randi,
Has this 60-character limit been resolved yet? What firmware version fixes it?

Hi Paul,
I apologize. Until just now, this was not fixed. I made the changes and we are planning on releasing firmware version 4.380 near the end of October. It will be available in this version.
Again, I apologize for the delay.
Randi
