Hello, I have a ComX510 whose date and time suddenly changed to its default value. I have been experiencing some issues with the ethernet port 1 losing communication and to re-establish it I cut the power off to the ComX510 and connected the ethernet cable to ethernet port 2. Just to clarify, both ethernet ports are configured with the same configuration. After making this change I noticed the ComX510 had a date and time of 2015. Anyone has any idea as to why the ComX510 isn't retaing the actual date and time?

Hi Nedjma, I haven't found a solution as to why the ComX510 loses its date and time after power it off and changing the ethernet cable from port. What I did found was that the ethernet connector cap was interfering to make a good connection that was causing my connection problems.

hello @Anonymous user ,
The Com'X series may be better placed in the gateway section rather than metering section. possibly tagging Randi Dolan.

Hi,
I don't know why this is happening. However, I've logged it as a defect and will have the team investigate the issue. Are you able to set the time manually, or is the Com'X configured for NTP?
Regards,
Randi

Hello Randi, I am able to set the time manually. It isn't configured to be set via NTP.

Hi Jorge,
We've been unable to reproduce this issue. Does this happen every time you power off the Com'X?
Thanks,
Randi

Hi Randi,
No, this issue doesn't happen every time I cut off power to the Com'X. I noticed this happened when the communication was inhibited and tried to re-establish it by turning the equipment off and turning it back on and switching from ethernet port 1 to port 2 or vice versa. Since we changed the ethernet cable for a different one we haven't had communication problems so haven't have to turn the Com'X off. Although in this installation we have 3 Com'X and only two of them that have had the communication issue had lost the time and date after rebooting them and switching ports. All three Com'X have the latetes firmware up to about seven months ago.
