Com'X 510 Zigbee Wi-Fi
Hello community,
I have a sales colleague ask me about whether Com'X 200/510 can use zigbee and Wi-Fi simultaneously.
From the Wi-Fi and zigbee instruction sheets (253537634-00, NHA2243500-01), zigbee and Wi-Fi interface are the three USB ports in the Com'X 200/510. So from the connection port it seems compatible, though there may be a conflict when you use permanent Wi-Fi, and an out-of-panel zigbee connection, and for both devices it's most convenient to use the main USB port.
I found in the Com'X 200/210 user manual (DOCA0036EN-03), it says, "Unintended Equipment Operation: Do not activate the WI-FI and zigbee networks together." However, in the Com'X 510 (DOCA0098EN-03_web) manual, it has no such warnings.
I found this outside source describe some of the feasibility and difficulties of zigbee Wi-Fi coexistence.
In the absence of WI-FI or zigbee modules to test, I would like to give an answer to my sales colleague.
Can Wi-Fi and zigbee be activated together on Com'X 510?
If not, what is the reason? And if they were to be activated together, would it result in permanent damage?
Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken,
I just wanted to let you know the 200/210 manual is currently in revision -06 and no longer carries the message above: Com’X 200/210 User Guide - Download Schneider Electric
To answer your last question, there is no permanent damage when used together--it was an issue of power supply to the accessories, which has since been corrected. However, we may need to further investigate reliability of transmission when using both.
Hope this helps,
Katie

Hi Katie,
Good to know. It would be helpful too if the compatibility between Wi-fi and zigbee was stated in the user manual.
FYI, my colleague has been testing Com'X 510 with Wi-Fi and zigbee both on for two days now. So far so good.
