Can I have Device logging from a generic modbus device using EGX300?

We have a
Serial Modbus Slave device  connected using RS485 to an EGX 300 . That is
to read over Modbus TCP/IP the slave registers

That works
OK and we can read the data . but  the question is :

As the EGX
300 has the option to logging data , we like to log 2 registers of the slave
device . But when we try to configure the logger only some preloaded devices
appear. In other words we can’t find the way to logging a standard Modbus
device .

Any
solution?

The
registers to read are 2 real ( DINT ) 32 bit register  Address 40015 &
16 and 40017 and 18

The Modbus
slave device is a TBUABR20-1000 base radio . from Accutech telemetry

Thanks

Hi Marcelo,

Generic Modbus device types cannot log data in EGX300.

The solution to have EGX300 logging data for your device is to define it as Custom Device Type.

Custom Device Types can be created and allow data (their defined topics) to be logged and exported.

The Custom Device Types creation must be enabled before becoming accessible as a link through the Setup menu.

Here are details for you: Is it possible to create custom device types in the EGX300?

Regards,

Adrian
