COM'x 200 FTP

Hi All,

Just checking if anyone else had seen similar problem working with COM'X 200.

The com'x is installed at the site and using GPRS modem to send the CSV file across to the server.

However, the file that comes across does not have any data in it.

Below is the snapshot of the file that is coming through the com'x 200.

Any idea on what may be causing this issue?

Also does anyone have instructions on how to extract the data logs and config files?

Thanks

Raj

Hey Rajesh,

Quick note that could help. The Com'X200 won't resend data. It only sends what has not been sent. So if you are doing manual push continuously, your files will be empty.

Are you getting this only when doing FTP? Are you getting the same result using HTTP? Also, does it also do that after an interval recording? One thing you can do to test it is to use 5mins interval length, then get a coffee and try again. You'll know for sure then! 🙂

Hooo, and obviously also make sure that some data is marked to be logged!

Hope it helps! 🙂

Hi Laurent,

Thanks for that.

Well I have tried FTP on the same server using the COM'x 200 in the lab and though there is no load on the meter and no data in the files.

The files come through and I am able to download the zip files and open them up at least and see the meter information etc...

However, in this case there is an "zip.temp" file extension and so it does not let me open the files at all.

I believe the meter has been logging data on to com'x 200 for about a month now and we have setup hourly publication.

Please find below snapshot of error message that were sent through to me.

hum....

Here is a bunch of things I would try:

1) Install Filezilla Server on your laptop and try to FTP to your laptop

2) Once you have the file on your laptop, use Filezilla client and try to FTP to that site. Try various settings for the connection (maybe it's a passive vs active FTP thingy).

3) What is this site your are exporting to? EO? EOO? Third party? Can you try HTTP?

I found the same problem a month ago.

The box is not able to rename the file from tmp to csv.

So first check if the given credentials have such right (rename)

If not, please adjust your server settings.

If yes, please open a support ticket. R&D is aware of this. I'll ask them today to give us some answer.

I just gave up from using CSV and jumped to EO XML format. No further problem so far.

Carlos

Hi All,

Finally we managed to sort this out.

After numerous tries with ftp and HTTP nothing worked so we used good old method  and did a factory reset of the device and it just started working

and we are receiving files.

It would have been good to find out what was causing it but glad its working!

Cheers

Raj
