DND Do not disturb - Linking multiple rooms together
Had a great question last night from who wanted to know if we could link multiple DND together when rooms in a hotel are linked together to make a suite.
The architecture used was the "now usual" MPM + RLG.
The MPM and RLG will obviously let that work without any issue. As long as the MPMs in each rooms know that they are linked to one another, you can have a lua script that will check the status of all the DND associated (done over Modbus TCP), and if one of the status changes, then you can modify the status of the others.
You could also easily create a status in the MPM to define whether the rooms are linked to one another or not and act differently upon that.
The big question really is, how to know if the rooms are linked or not as this status comes from the Property Management System (Appolo, Fidelio...). So even though on the Schneider side, it's definitely possible, the big question for this type of command is whether we can interface properly with the PropertyMS.
As the team in the UK (@Paul Bates) is currently working on this integration between the Automation Server (BMS) and the PropertyMS, we will check with them and keep you updated as we get answers.
Another solution would be to do this at the RLG or the future RCU level. Hopefully @Emily Wang can give us some clue on that.
