Hi, i have a Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP gateway (EGX100) and multiple devices devices are connected to it. Do i have to get a custom DDF (Providing SNMP walk of the device to multivendor support) so that i can monitor the values of devices attached to this gateway or a generic DDF will do so.

Hi Shaf,
If you are using a modbus TCP to modbus IP gateway, you would need a modbus DDF for the devices. Although the gateway is capable of using SNMP, it does not output any SNMP for the devices, only for itself. Additionally, if you add the IP of the gateway as an SNMP device, DCE will not allow you to add that same IP as a modbus device.
Each device connected to the gateway (I suggest less than 6 devices per) must have a modbus DDF within DCE. You can then add a new modbus device by IP of the gateway, the slave address of the device, and you would also select the specific DDF. If the DDF is not already available, you need to contact multivendorsupport@apcc.com and provide the proper modbus register map(s) for the devices. They will provide you with a DDF and you can precede. If you need help adding a device, look for the following k-base document: FA177081 .
