why is PostgreSQL used for Struxtureware when it has know issues, especially around indexing as we discovered very recently causing many hours of down time on it, what version is in use ? what levels of support do we / you receive and is this particular bug known to Schneider and the supplier? (data corruption when the product attempts to re-index the data following the removal of records)

Hi Sue,
The technology choices is the responsibility of our Software Engineering team and as such not something we discuss outside of the team. We do the best we can to make sure we pick among the best components. In most cases the errors you are experiencing is due to our usage of the technology and not the technology it self.
One of our goals with Data Center Operation is to make it able to run without the need for a Database Administrator. We do not always succeed with that, but should it happen, then I can assure you that we work with you until the problem is solved. Afterwards we do everything we can to build our learnings into the next version of our product.
Best Regards
Anders
