Good morning all.
I have a strange alarming issue with DCE. We have a CSS power rail that we have a DDF for that works via SNMP v3.
It has 2 device alarms as part of its DDF file for digital inputs, basically for on off rack door type switches. ISXC sees them fine as device alarms but if you try to set them up as threshold alarms, it does not see their state changing.
It’s got me a bit confused as it obviously sees their state change from always open to always closed or vise versa to initiate the device alarms.
Again they are working fine as device alarms however I thought I would be able to activate them as a threshold alarm?

Hi Jeff,
You mention you are expecting to see a change from always open to always closed. If this is a configuration, for instance in NetBotz, a relay can be normally open or normally closed, that configuration will not change. The state however is different. There should be just an open or closed state rather than always open or always closed. This could be an issue with the specific type of sensor you are choosing or it could also be an issue with how the DDF is pulling that information.
You mentioned that this is an SNMP DDF. Take a look at the device using an SNMP utility outside of DCE. Note the OID that changes when the device changes the output state. Once you find that, take a look in the DDF. Is that OID matched up with the text for the sensor you're tying to create a threshold?
