changing DCE server IP address

Hi,

Currently our Network Team are looking to move our monitoring VLAN to secure private VLAN, which including our DCE server. The question are what happen when we have to change the DCE server IP address ?

1. Do I have to rebuild from scratch ?
2. Can DCE server re-connect to the existing data ? 
3. Can DCE server still see all devices ( 595 devices are connected )

Dear Minh, the dce config and data will be there even if you change the  IP address of DCE public network settings. Best pratices before any change system administration setting is to take full backup so that you do not need to worry if something goes wrong. I have recently changed the IP address of DCE and could see all the data after change of only DCE Public IP address keeping private network devices settings intact.

So.ething else to keep in mind would be if the snmp community string settings on your devices are set to only allow a specific device to connect for monitoring. On APC devices it would be the NMS IP/hostname field in the community string settings.
