could you please guide me how and where to place humidity / temperature sensors within Data Center RACKS. I have two InRow RP and InRow RD units?

Dear Abdullah,

Here are the recommendations to install a temperature sensor(AP9335T) at the racks.

  1. Attach sensor to the door of a rack using wire clips (top graphic). Do not apply the wire clips directly on the sensor.  Attach sensor to the vertical rail in a rack using adhesive cable tie holders and tie            wraps (bottom graphic). Do not apply tie  wraps directly on the sensor.

        2. Connect the sensor cable to  a Universal Sensor Port on a  compatible device. The length                               can be extended via an RJ-45 coupling with CAT-5 cable.

Here are the recommendations to install a temperature and humidity(AP9355TH) sensor at the racks.

  1. Attach sensors to the door of a rack using a  housing clip and wire clips (top graphic).                                  Make sure the housing clip snaps around the sensor’s top recessed channel.

Attach sensors to the vertical rail in a rack using  adhesive cable tie holders and tie wraps (bottom         graphic). Tighten a tie wrap across the sensor’s bottom recessed channel.

  2. Connect the sensor cable to  a Universal Sensor Port on a  compatible device. The length                               can be extended via an RJ-45 coupling with CAT-5 cable.

I also suggest you to refer the APC APC Whitepaper #102: Monitoring Physical Threats in the Data Center for more useful information.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Bala
