Critical:
The Disk Array write cache on server ISXCentral is disabled.
Please see the diagnostic information below. If a scheduled BBU calibration will start soon or is in progress, you may disregard this message. Otherwise, please contact Data Center Expert Support for assistance correcting this state as soon as possible.
With a disabled write cache, system performance will be greatly reduced resulting in possible data loss and software failure.
Diagnostic Information:
ERROR:BBU Current Cache Policy value is WriteThrough but should be WriteBack.
WARNING:Replace BBU battery. Full charge capacity is low.
INFO:BBU battery capacity is 25.89% (Full Charge is 492 of the 1900 mAh Design Rating).
INFO:BBU calibration was last performed Fri 05/20/2016 11:52:59 EDT and is next scheduled for Thu 08/18/2016 11:52:59 EDT based on RAID clock current reading of 08/03/2016 07:43:50.

Hi Chris,
The RAID array on the physical DCE enterprise server has a battery which loses charge potential as time goes on (usually 2-3 years) and must be replaced. The reason this is a critical alarm within DCE is that the RAID controller will change the way data is written to the hard drives when the battery potential is low. On a loaded system this will cause DCE to not be able to write data to the drives fast enough and cause DCE to overload and potentially crash.
I believe this issue can be addressed by calling tech support to schedule getting a battery replacement and instructions on how to do so.

Hi Chris,
As the message states, the raid battery is low. If the system is running a battery test which it will do intermittently, this may be normal. If it is not running a test, then the battery is low.
If if the battery is low because of age or use, it may need to be replaced. You will have to verify the issue and warranty with tech support. If it is under warranty we can replace the battery, if not, you wil have to purchase a new one from Dell.
Is is there an issue with the server's operation?
Steve.
