Virtual Sensor calculation wrong values

Hi Any one can support me for Virtual sensor wrong value issue in DCE i am facing.Below is my work out

I fetch independent 32 system sensor total utilization  and calculated on excel getting total as 2978.235 kilo watts.

I have created a new virtual sensor--> Total–> Power with all  32 system sensor total but is showing wrong value as 2676.1 kilo watts

Can any one let me know what went wrong.

Hi I have attach the current readings PIC and it is giving me difference of 40.07 KW but when i pull the virtual sensor report for the period of 3 days the sensor value is way different i.e. wrong to more then 100 + KW but when i do calculation by fetching independent sensor then value is correct.

Hi Shaik Mahboob Ali,

The reason for the inaccuracy is mathematical rounding.

You have 38 power meters that have real power sensors with an accuracy of 1W. A DCE-server total power virtual sensor  "measures" the real power in kW with an accuracy of 100W (a hundred times worse). After simple mathematical calculations we get your difference in readings of about 40kW. I.e., mathematically, the DCE-server calculates everything correctly.

If at a real total power of more than 2MW this inaccuracy is unacceptable for you, then for a total power virtual sensor it is necessary to use power meter device sensors not in kW, but in W. Since the DCE-server total power virtual sensor in W has an accuracy of 100mW (or that is the same 0.1W).

If your power meters do not have such sensors (in W), they can easily be created by making small changes to the DDF-files of the power meters. This is the practical solution to your problem.
