Hi,
We currently backup to a CIFS share on NetApp storage, it has been working fine but has now stopped. The only info I can find is in the event logs to say that the backup failed. Can someone tell me where i can find some more useful logs?

Hi Paul,
If it had been working but has now stopped, the first thing to ask is what has changed? It is likely the rights on the target system have changed or potentially it has become full and won't accept the new data. Check you have full read write create access and that the storage has enough room.
The logs you're looking for may not be easily readable. There are often events that do not effect the system and customers reading logs will often ask about events even when there is no issue. That being said, the logs are the nbc.xml logs. If you click on the logs option from the web page of DCE, you will see these logs. They should tell you if there is a failed mount or if it fails to write etc.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the reply, where abouts is the log option? I can only see events and it doesn't give any great details into why it has failed?

Hi Paul,
If you're on the web page, there should be a link on the top right of the page for logs. You can also look at status/view log files.
