To share the DDF-files for community and future release of DCE?

Hi all!

How it is possible to share the DDF-files with community and whether it will be possible to bring them in future release of DCE?

For example, on own initiative I am engaged in development of DDF-files for various DC's equipment since 2013. Besides, as required I improve DDF-files which go in a standard set of DCE.

At the moment I can offer the following DDF-files, modifed and again created by me:

-- apcpower.xml - is improved for the display "Display ID" at cascade connection to up four rPDU's on the CAN ABus;
-- emerson_asco_connectivity_module.xml - Emerson ASCO 5100 Series Connectivity Module (SNMP);
-- emerson_asco_group_5_controller.xml - Emerson ASCO Group 5 Controller (Modbus TCP);
-- emerson_asco_power_manager_xp.xml - Emerson ASCO Power Manager Xp (Modbus TCP);
-- carel_pCO_sistema.xml - Carel pCO Sistema programmable electronic controler for HiRef (SNMP);
-- emerson_liebert_HiSNMP_iCOM.xml - Emerson Liebert HiSNMP with iCOM Adapter (SNMP);
-- emerson_liebert_HiSNMP_powerface.xml - Emerson Liebert HiSNMP with Powerface Adapter (SNMP);
-- socomec_diris_a10_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A10 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- socomec_diris_a17_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A17 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- socomec_diris_a20_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A20 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- socomec_diris_a40_a41_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A40, A41 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- socomec_diris_a60_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A60 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- socomec_diris_a80_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A80 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- woodward_easygen-2000_genset.xml - Woodward easYgen-2000 Series Genset Control (Modbus TCP);
-- woodward_easygen-3000_genset.xml - Woodward easYgen-3000 Series Genset Control (Modbus TCP);
-- woodward_ls-5_cb_control.xml - Woodward LS-5 Series Circuit Breaker Control (Modbus TCP).

All DDF-files contain not only the standard measured variables and states, but a set of the built-in alert and messages.

Besides, everything SNMP DDF-files also support registration of the DCE servers as the hidden SNMP traps receivers (APC Secure Interface – ASI) as it is made for the equipment APC by Schneider Electric.

Very thanks for the support.

Hi Spezialist,

Many thanks for the appreciated initiative and suggestion. However to my knowledge there is a very dedicated team that is taking care of the device support including the DDF related tasks. So hopefully I'm not disappointing you, but I believe that sharing unsupported ddf files (which have not been passed the =S= QA) would not be a recommended option.

Furthermore I wish to highlight that unsupported ddf files may/might in jeopardize customer's setup!

Kind regards

Thanks Jef for the answer.

Of course, I perfectly understand all this.

Therefore, initially my purpose is simply the increase the number of the supported devices for community and simplification, acceleration of development of new DDF-files. And that the most important - community can help and promote fast detection of inaccuracies and mistakes in DDF-files. Besides, the community can precisely tell as how it is necessary to improve in the existing DDF-files with what I also dealt at improvement of apcpower.xml for APC rPDU 2G.

Very thanks for the support.

Hi spezialist, As Jef is saying we are being very careful about DDFs as a faulty DDF can disrupt the DCE server. However, we are working on making this better in the future and will surely be looking into creating a place where high level users such as yourself will be able to share your custom DDFs with the community, because we fully agree that it could accelerate the creation of new device support files. Thank you very much for your contribution - it is highly appreciated 🙂 Best, Kristoffer Program Manager, DCIM Support

Anyway, I with pleasure can be useful to community. After all, creation of DDF-files for non APC equipment -- is my profile and it is one of my many tasks as expert :-). I will wait for this moment and very thanks for the support.

Yes, a list of ready-made DDF files, and links to download them, ideally.

Hi Jared, Currently the EcoStruxure IT Help Center/community doesn't have information about already created DDF files - the current process for device support (DDF requests) would be either via ADD MY DEVICE (http://sxwhelpcenter.ecostruxureit.com/devices), or via email posted to multivendorsupport@schneider-electric.com Hope this helps Kind regards

Hi all!

In connection with the official release of DCE-7.4.3, I want to update my small list above the published DDF-files. And I can say with pleasure, that since the version of DCE-7.4.3 in apcpower.xml v.45, the developers have made the necessary changes, which allow now to clearly separate the RPDU sensors, which are cascaded through CAN ABus. Here's how it looks now for two cascaded RPDUs:

Therefore, finally I do not need to constantly edit (starting with DCE-7.2.x and ending with DCE-7.4.2) above the specified DDF-file, as I wrote about it earlier:

-- apcpower.xml - is improved for the display "Display ID" at cascade connection to up four rPDU's on the CAN ABus;

Finally, an updated list of DDF-files, modified and newly created by me:

-- emerson_asco_connectivity_module.xml - Emerson ASCO 5100 Series Connectivity Module (SNMP);
-- emerson_asco_group_5_controller.xml - Emerson ASCO Group 5 Controller (Modbus TCP);
-- emerson_asco_power_manager_xp.xml - Emerson ASCO Power Manager Xp (Modbus TCP);
-- carel_pCO_sistema.xml - Carel pCO Sistema programmable electronic controler for HiRef (SNMP);
-- ComAp_IL-NT-AMF25_genset.xml - ComAp InteliLite NT AMF 25 Genset Control (Modbus TCP);
-- enlogic_pdu.xml - Enlogic PDU, Inline Power Meter and Sensor POD (SNMP);
-- enlogic_pdu_newFW.xml - Enlogic PDU, Inline Power Meter and Sensor POD with new generation firmware (SNMP);
-- emerson_liebert_HIROLINK_iCOM_microface.xml - Emerson Liebert HIROLINK-i with iCOM Adapter (Microface) (SNMP)
-- emerson_liebert_HiSNMP_iCOM.xml - Emerson Liebert HiSNMP with iCOM Adapter (SNMP);
-- emerson_liebert_HiSNMP_iCOM_microface.xml - Emerson Liebert HiSNMP with iCOM Adapter (Microface) (SNMP);
-- emerson_liebert_HiSNMP_powerface.xml - Emerson Liebert HiSNMP with Powerface Adapter (together with a separate SNMP proxy);
-- emerson_liebert_HiSNMP_powerface_TCPIP_Modbus.xml - Emerson Liebert HiSNMP with Powerface Adapter (together with a separate SNMP to TCP/IP Modbus gateway);
-- socomec_diris_a10_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A10 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- socomec_diris_a17_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A17 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- socomec_diris_a20_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A20 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- socomec_diris_a40_a41_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A40, A41 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- socomec_diris_a60_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A60 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- socomec_diris_a80_mfm.xml - Socomec DIRIS A80 MFM (Modbus TCP);
-- odin_diag_battery_frame_temperature.xml - APC Symmetra PX 250/500 Battery Modules Temperature (SNMP);
-- woodward_easygen-2000_genset.xml - Woodward easYgen-2000 Series Genset Control (Modbus TCP);
-- woodward_easygen-3000_genset.xml - Woodward easYgen-3000 Series Genset Control (Modbus TCP);
-- woodward_ls-5_cb_control.xml - Woodward LS-5 Series Circuit Breaker Control (Modbus TCP).

All DDF-files contain not only the standard measured variables and states, but a set of the built-in alert and messages. Besides, everything SNMP DDF-files also support registration of the DCE-servers as the hidden SNMP traps receivers (APC Secure Interface – ASI) as it is made for the equipment APC by Schneider Electric.

Hi Anonymous User,

Yes, of course, I can discuss with you and maybe something I can help 😀.

Unfortunately, I speak bad English, therefore, the best and obvious way would be a discussion on e-mail.

With best regards.

Anonymous User you are most welcome to request a new or modification to a DDF file, and you can always include your old DDF as a starting point for the device support team.  http://sxwhelpcenter.ecostruxureit.com/devices
