Hi all!
Recently there was a release of DCO-8.1 and, accordingly, SxW ITO with Server Access 7.5.2.
But unfortunately it did not work for installing on productive OS, for example, MS Windows Server 2012, MS Windows Server 2016, RHEL/CentOS-6.x, RHEL/CentOS-7.x ☹️. And all because of the fact, that according to the StruxureWare Data Center IT Optimize Server Requirements it is necessary to use:
- Windows Environments: Windows 2008 and 2008 R2 (Windows 2012 and 2012 R2 are currently not supported)
- Linux Environments: RH 5.4, SUSE 11 (Linux ITO server cannot discover Windows 2008 R2, Windows 7, Windows 2012 or Windows 2012 R2 servers).
But the above mentioned OS has not been used in the productive because of the end of their technical support (the end of life or end of production phase has come). For example:
That is, from the above, only one server OS SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP4 is now in a productive state and no more.
I.e., for SxW ITO with Server Access: when there will be support for productive server OS?
Very thanks for the support.
P.S.: on the part of Intel DCM and Intel KVM software (the two main components of SxW ITO with Server Access), support for all of the above productive OS is performed without problems. And I could practically verify this successfully.

Hello.
Yes, the ITO installer will tell you it cannot be installed on those operating systems.
ITO will run on Windows 2012, CentOS 6.x and 7.x as well as Redhat 6.x and 7.x if you run the ITO installer from the command line and add this command line option: ""--check_os_supported no" (note there are two dashes in front of the word "check").
I have run ITO on some of these operating systems for over a year.

Hi Greg Sterling,
Thanks for the very useful answer.
I think, that it is now time to reconsider the system requirements for SxW ITO 😀.
With best regards.

Regarding systemd based RHEL/CentOS-7.x: for a successful installation SxW ITO with the above parameter, some legacy LSB OS components are required:
bash/etc/rc.d/init.d/energycenter start# /etc/rc.d/init.d/energycenter start /etc/rc.d/init.d/energycenter: line 25: /lib/lsb/init-functions: No such file or directoryTherefore, you must first install these three rpm files:
redhat-lsb-core-4.1-27.el7.centos.1.x86_64.rpm
redhat-lsb-submod-security-4.1-27.el7.centos.1.x86_64.rpm
spax-1.5.2-13.el7.x86_64.rpm
With best regards.
