Has anyone experienced NBRK0250(6.4.5) showing in DCE(7.4.2) with the management card's (AP9538) serial number? Is there a fix for this? Hardware information for the device is not showing up at all under About.

Dear Jose Gutierrez,
From the topic of your question:
Serial Numbers for some NBRK0250 is showing incorrectly
Do you think, that this problem occurs only in some NetBotz-250 devices with v.6.4.5 firmware (i.e., do you have NetBotz-250 devices with v.6.4.5 firmware, that do not have this problem)?
You tried to update the firmware of your NetBotz-250 to the latest version of v.6.5.0? See, for example, the User Assistance for NetBotz Rack Monitor 250 page.
I hope this helps you.
With respect.

Hello Spezialist, yes, 2 out of the 7 NBRK0250 with V6.4.5 do not have this problem. I have requested for the DDF but we'll see if it helps because within the web app, I can't see the device's serial number. It only shows the management card's serial number under about. See below.

Just updated the device's firmware to V6.5.0 and it still does not show the device's serial number, which is why I think DCE shows the management card's serial number instead.

Dear Jose Gutierrez,
I.e., do you have some NetBotz-250 devices, that have a Serial Number printed on the barcode sticker (on the device), that does not match the Serial Number in the web-GUI interface (Factory Information -> Hardware Factory)? I understand you correctly?
With respect.

As spezialist mentioned, we fixed this in v6.5.0 firmware and higher. You can load that and DCE will show the correct serial number.
The appliance info is also under Configuration Menu->NetBotz->and click on the different modules you may have, in addition to the main NetBotz appliance.

Thank You

I went back to confirm with the firmware team what was going on here. They did confirm back to me that after v6.5.0, an extra reboot is required for the application file to do what it needs to do to fix the issue and display the proper serial number in the device interfaces, including SNMP which is what DCE uses. The needed reboot is not automatic as to not concern users with an unexpected reboot since it is not typically required after any firmware update on our devices using the embedded network management card platform, like NB250.
Hope this helps close the loop on what happened here and why the reboot was needed.

Ok, great thanks for the helpful explanation on this issue. We just did not know anything about it.
It seems to me, that it is necessary to put it in the release notes for this NetBotz-250 firmware and optionally in the knowledge base.
With respect.

Hi, yes, I am working getting it added to the release notes at a minimum. We should be able to have a new rev of those early next week by the latest.

Mine shows S/n ok in 7.4.2.36, but insists it is a Rack Monitor, so can't be monitored ☹️
A firmware update didn't help.

Dear Mark,
I do not quite understand you: do you have problems with displaying information from NetBotz-250 in DCE software?
If this is the case, in addition to updating the NetBotz-250 firmware, it is also highly recommended, that you also update the DDF-file. For example, the current version of this DDF-file is v.17. This, for example, was recently discussed in topic .
I hope this helps you.

The netbotz 250 shows up as type "Rack Manager".
Updated to DCE 7.5 and netbotz250 firmware. It still thinks it is a Rack Manager with the netbotz 250 sensors as well - it still shows rack door sensors but still has the Rack Access Control option tab.
At least it is now useable as the correct sensors are present..
