Hi,
We have been able to restore a backup from one Netbotz appliance to another in mitigating an issue on the original appliance. The backup was restored and we are able to continue monitoring of 4 x sensor pods and a sea level device with a number of dry contacts.
Note that i am fully aware of FA176136...but would like assistance if possible.
The one issue that we have picked up so far is that the appliance comes up with "Unknown" when sending an email alert instead of the name of the appliance. Any suggestions on resolving this?
We would like to rather display the Location of the appliance as the "From Address".

Hi Kevin,
If you're running Botzware 4.6.3, there is a known issue where the "from address" comes across as "unknown" as per k-base FA365716. That's the only reason I know that this may occur and should have nothing to do with a backup/restore (unless maybe you restored a backup from a unit with 4.6.3...not sure how that may work.
If you want to put a specific value in the "from" address, you need to edit that on the e-mail server page. Only your target e-mail server can say if you need a valid "From" address or not and where mine says 750, you can put whatever you'd like. There is no way to put other values there. You can put those and other values in the subject or e-mail body by using SMS and macros.
I don't see anything here specific to a backup/restore from one bot to another but it is simply not supported. If you can get some of it working, that's great. If it doesn't work or if anything appears corrupt or not working, I strongly suggest wiping it out and manually reconfiguring.

Hi Steven,
Thank you. We had essentially backed up the appliance on v4.6.3 before it was restored. But an upgrade to v4.6.4 has resolved the issue! Much appreciated.
