Hi all,
I am trying to Restore a Physical DCE Server (AP9470) that is running on ISX v7.0.0 using a Bootable disk created using a Restore ISO v7.81 however when the Server turns on it is throwing an Error - "Could not find kernel image: linux"
I have created the Bootable disk using a Windows machine on a 32GB USB Drive.
Kindly assist with pointers on how to resolve this?
Thank you in advance!

@Tafadzwa You can not restore a DCE server to a different version than the one the backup was created for. So if you back up is from a 7.0.0 box you have to use a Restore ISO v7.0.0. Then restore your backup, and then upgrade to 7.8.1.
If you are looking to wipe the server and do a fresh install starting at 7.8.1 then the USB is fine, but really I would go ahead and get the newest version. I think they are on 8.0.0 or higher now. One thing I have found though is that while the instructions say to put the USB into a USB slot. Only one really works for this. When I had to do this I believe it was the top one on the back, was the only one that the BIOS would see and use.
Also make sure that you use the correct version of APC's key maker software that matches the ISO version that you are making the key for. This can usually be downloaded on the same page that you get the ISO from. Allow the Key maker program to format the USB stick/drive, and create the boot able Key for DCE. Then place the USB stick into one of the rear USB slots and reboot/power on the server. If you do not see the USB drive in the boot options then move it to the other USB slot and reboot the server again.

@Tafadzwa You should really look for a smaller USB drive. I currently use a 4GB one and works great. what may be happening is that the server is trying to use the partition that has nothing on it to boot from

hello,
first of all: did you use mkDCExpertRestoreUsbKey from Schneider to write iso on usb drive?
second: is recommended usb drive max 4gb (you can create a smaller partition on that usb drive)
optional you can try to boot that usb on any computer(of course do not start install because will erase internal drive)

hi @Gabi
I used the mkDCExpertRestoreUsbKey from Schneider. I created a smaller partion on the USB and I made it 4GB.
The Restore started running however it got stuck on "anaconda installer init version 13.21.263 using a serial console"
Any idea how to move from this?
Thank you.
