Hi Haider,

That's a very old version, I'm not sure if the following instructions could be applied to v. 5.0 (but it should work from v. 5.1),

1. Hook up monitor/keyboard to ISXC or setup hyperterminal serial session.

2. Reboot ISXC (by cycling power)

3. Login within 5 minutes of ISXC reboot with the following username/password:
username: apcreset
password: apc

4. Follow instructions when prompted to reset apc admin user to factory defaults (i.e. apc/apc)

5.Login to the Central client with the apc/apc as admin user/password,  goto  Settings-Users and Device Group Access to change the Central's user and password specifically.

NOTE. as mentioned, that's a very old, out-dated and unsupported version, it is highly recommended to upgrade (to DCE 7.4.X),

Hope this helps,

Kind regards

Hi Saqfi,

Can you please verify this is version 5.0 of InfraStruxure Central (it's not manager)? Reason being, versions 5.1 and higher have a pretty straight forward way to reset the default password. Older versions will require that you call in and allow remote access by tech support.

Thanks,

Steve

Dear Jef,

I have confirmed, client version is 5.0. Can you help me to upgrade it to DCE 7.4.x. What about backup while updating. I am unable to login so it is another hurdle to take backup.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Hi Haider,
Concerning the upgrade, generally speeking as long as customer(s) have support cnotracts, they can contact the local tech support to verify the support contacts and get the upgrade links.

The contact information and dial in numbers can be found from the following web site www.apc.com (tip: select your country/region ,  and then look for SUPPORT -> CONTACT US )

As far as I know, it is not possible to upgrade directly from 5.0.x to 7.x, customer would need to upgrade incrementally. (and naturally taking a full backup between each upgrade step would be recommended).  Both password reset (for v 5.0) and the possible upgrade steps and instructions would be really good idea to be discussed with the local tech support and/or if needed with the local =S= contact person, thanks.

Kind regards

Hi Haider,

In addition to Jef's comments, you need to be able to log in to the system to either backup or to upgrade. The only way to go directly to 7.4.1 is to do a fresh install / restore and manually reconfigure the system. You can only bring in a backup from the same version.

Dear Jef & Steve,

Nice to see your words. Client has also installed 15 Node license. What about the license if I a fresh installation is performed.

Hi Haider,

You should have a login at https://dcimassets.schneider-electric.com/.  Your license key would be there. If you don't have a login, you'll need again to work with tech support and they can get you the license key. We would rather not pass mac addresses and license keys etc. back and forth using this forum.
