Re-naming Netbotz 755 Device name

Hello,

We have an older Netbot (355) that we are able to rename with the Advanced View software. I'm not able to find the option to re-name the Netbotz 755.

I'm able to re-name the camera pod that is connected but not the device itself. Is it possible to rename the device to include the location or is this not possible with the 755 model?

The issue I'm attempting to solve is when an alarm triggers it sends an email to our alerting software that generates an alert. This alert is generically titled as "Temperature sensor too high - WARNING - TEMPERATURE - NetBotz 755". The older 355 we were able to edit the name in Advanced view to include the location ex: Test Error - Error - NetBotz - 123 Data Center

As a work around I have can edit the alarm configurations to include the location of the device but this is not ideal as it requires manual configuration of all the alarms.

I have also tried to update the email address it is sending from but this is only reflected in the description of the email and not the subject.

Hi @Dube_j,

I have let product management know of the need for a location field to be included in the email notifications.  The NetBotz 750 in the Subject line as far as I can tell can not be edited.  As a work around you can edit the name of the pod on the homepage to be a location and it would show within the body of the email under the Pod value.

From the overview tab in the 750 series web interface, click on the heading of the pod that you wish to rename and then edit the name of the Pod:

Example partial body of an email showing the Location pulling through:

Regards,

Cory
