Hi Community,
I can not see rack mount PDU(AP8853&AP8886) kw value on DCE, but it seens rPDU web interface. When i try to create new virtual sensor, it is not working. Each power value is watt. My customer wants to see kw value on DCE. Please can you share me any advance.. You can see attached images.
Regards

Hi guys,
Some values are indeed provided by the device and for watts or KW on PDUs some are actually calculated by the DDF as Valentin noted. There may be issues with requesting an updated DDF for APC PDUs. If you get an updated PDU DDF and then the system itself is updated, most server updates also include updated DDF files which will overwrite the one you've put on the system.
Additionally, we are discussing the fact that the DDF is responsible for these values. It is believed that the PDU should be responsible for providing these values so if this is changed in the future, you may have to again deal with a value in watts rather than KW. I will forward this on to engineering so they will have more data for this investigation.
Steve.

Hi Kerem!
DCE shows values that contains in DDF for corresponding device.
So you need to contact multivendorsupport@apc.com team and request an update for DDF file you use.

You need a DDF for SNMP protocol. When you receive DFF, you need to upload it to DCE and then sensor values will be updated automatically.

Hi Valentin, SNMP Device Defnition file is updated but, still kw value is not available. Do i extra configuration? You can see new ddf file and sensors view in attach. Regards Kerem

Hi Kerem! Its better if you ask multivendorsupport about that. You need no extra configurations. You can try to discover devices again, but I'm not sure if it helps.

[Multivendorsupport] The sensors for Power are present in the DDF for APC Rack PDUs, though measured in Watts, rather than Kilowatts. This is in order to map correctly to sensors in DCO. For this reason, we are unable to change the sensor type to kW as it would break this compatibility.
