Rack Monitor NetBotz 250: How to retrieve the BootMon

Hello,

One procedure we are thinking about is gathering the different pieces of firmware of the NetBotz 250.

Hence, I would like to know if it was possible to retrieve the BootMon on the Rack Monitor NetBotz 250.

Indeed, with the "dir" CLI cmd, only the AppModule and the AOS are displayed and retrievable from the Rack Monitor. However, I did not see the BootMon.

Do you have any solution to perform such action ?

Thank in advance.

Best Regards,

Raphaël

@Cory_McDonald

Thank you for your answer. I knew these possibilities.

Sadly, I was looking for retrieveing directly form the non-volatile memory of the NetBotz 250 the BootMon.

For what I understand, you confirm my fear. It is not possible to perform such an action.

Therefore, to sum up for the community:

  • BootMon, AOS, AppModule can be read with "about" cli command
  • It is possible to download from APC.com the BootMon
  • It is not possible to download, from the non-volatile memory of the NetBotz 250, the BootMon

I thank you greatly for your answers.

Best Regards,

Raphaël

@Anonymous user,

If you are looking to just pull the version of Bootmon, AOS, and APP that are installed on the NetBotz 250 you can use the about command from an SSH command line:

Thank you for your reply Cory 🙂

I do know the command "about" to audit the configuration of the firmware currently running on the Rack Monitor.

What I would like to do is retrieving the full binary file of the Boot Monitor.

I know that we can retrieve the AOS.bin and the AppModule.bin. But I do not know, how I could retrieve the binary of the Boot Monitor.

Do you know if it possible to perform such an operation ?

If so, what would you the procedure ?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Raphaël

@Anonymous user,

I am not familiar with any way this can be done.  I have also checked with some NMC gurus and they also are not familiar with any way to pull the Bootmon file back off of the device.

If you are looking for firmware files, including the bootmon files, you can obtain these from APC.com for the respective network management cards and Application modules (SmartUPS, rPDU, NB250, etc.).

Kind Regards,

Cory
