Hi all,
I did upgrade DCE from 7.2.0 to 7.2.6. I have a problem with timeouts on MODBUS devices (Modbus links with EGX300 and 2-8 PM710). Problem occurs from version 7.2.4.
Timeouts on version 7.2.0: max. 1 per day on Modbus link with EGX300 and 8 PM710
Timeouts on version 7.2.6 (7.2.4): 20-30 per day on Modbus link with EGX300 and 8 PM710
The problem also occurs on gateway MOXA.

Hello Tomastsk,
I am not aware of any changes to DCE in regrades to Modbus TCP communication. Prior to downgrading the server, I would recommend gathering a packet capture to investigate the communication between the two devices. Two packet would be preferred, one closest to the DCE server and the other closest to the EGX300. With both packet capture we can investigate End to End communication. Once the packet capture is gathered please contact your local technical support, here in the North American the technical support phone number is 877-908-2688. By contacting technical support we can create a case to track progress of the issue and escalate this concern to the proper channels.

It is to my understanding only possible to downgrade by reinstalling the old version and the restoring the old backup onto that install. I have no experience trying to restore a newer backup in an older system and it is not recommended. So it is a known issue (since 7.2.4) you are experiencing?

I have installed about 10 server (8x BASIC, 1x STANDARD, 1x Virtual) in different sites and customers. Sites with firmware 7.2.0 or 7.2.1 don't have problem with timeots on MODBUS (all timeots are on RS485 sides). One site I upgrade form 7.2.0 to 7.2.6 and next I downgrade to 7.2.0: - before upgrade (7.2.0) - max 1 timeouts per day (timeots on RS485 side) - after upgrade (7.2.6) - about 150 timeouts per day (on 28 MODBUS devices, all PM710) - after downgrade (7.2.0) - no timeots during 1 day from downgrade - I did not change the device settings, hardware, network settings or any settings The problem not cause a change to the MODBUS TCP communication, but a change in the Linux operating system or JAVA (security updates).

We would be happy to investigate this issue. We will need a packet capture and the capture logs from the server to start the investigation. Is this something that we could gather?
