Power Readings form Inline Meter

Hi All,

We are using Inline Current Meter for calculation power consumption on non-standard cabinet.

With this inline meters we only get current value

We would like to get power value for PUE calculation.

Is there any method we can do this on DC Expert or DC Operation.

I am thinking we can do it Device Definition Files. We an Current and We have Volt.

In-Line Current Meter, 32A, 230V, IEC309

The APC In-Line Current Meter monitors current to devices in the datacenter including existing basic rack PDUs and freestanding equipment.

Best Regards,

Emre

Hi emrekoca

It is possible to use current values to calculate the PUE in Energy Efficiency in Data Center Operation.

In Energy Efficiency will we normally use the power readings from the Rack PDU's, but it is possible to use the current values and then multiply it with the voltage to get the power reading. This can be done in a script. The voltage will of cause be a static value, so it might not be as precise as a measurement from a metered Rack PDU.

Hope this answer your question. Thanks

Jesper

Hi emrekoca It is actually also possible to use the simple PUE/DCIE feature in Data Center Operation. You just have to add the right value as multiplier so the current measurement get converted to kW. There is of cause some advantages for using Energy Efficiency compared to the simple PUE/DCIE feature . Read more about the PUE/DCIE feature here: http://dcimsupport.apc.com/display/UAOp74/Configuring+the+PUE+DCiE Thanks Jesper
