We have an assortment of APC rack PDUs monitored by StruxureWare Data Center Expert 7.4.1. After uploading the latest firmware catalog I found most of our PDUs are behind the latest FW release. Is there documentation available on each FW release regarding requirements and any known issues. Has anyone had issues applying the following FW releases for these PDUs.
AP7998 current rel. 3.7.3/3.7.3 latest rel. 3.9.2/3.9.2
AP7866 current rel. 3.7.3/3.7.3 latest rel. 3.9.2/3,9,2
AP7730 current rel. 3.5.6/3.5.7 latest rel. 3.9.2/3.9.2
AP7732 current rel. 3.7.1/3.7.4 latest rel. 3.9.2/3.9.2
AP7911 current rel. 3.3.3/3.3.4 latest rel. 3.9.2/3.9.2
AP8898 current rel. 6.3.3/6.3.2 latest rel. 6.4.4/6.4.4

Hi Barry Patterson,
Is there documentation available on each FW release regarding requirements and any known issues.
Tip: if you click on the new firmware version in the Apply Firmware Updates window, you can read a brief but very useful Update Description about the key changes or fixes in this firmware version, for example:
As for me: it allows you to be aware of the changes and do not spend a lot of time looking for official releases of firmware 😀.
Has anyone had issues applying the following FW releases for these PDUs.
Firmware 3.9.2 is already old and is the latest version for APC devices of the first generation (which are usually already EOL). I also have a lot of such devices in operation with this firmware and I did not notice any problems.
Firmware 6.4.4 is the recommended version for APC or Schneider Electric second generation devices. Soon there should be a release of the new version of firmware 6.5.0, which is currently being tested and so far only available for the UPS NMC2. I also have a lot of such devices in operation with this firmware and I did not notice any problems.
With respect.

Barry,
Release notes can be found on APC.com for the firmware versions, if available. Search for the device on apc.com and then navigate to the Software & Firmware tab. Release notes will be listed here, if available.
Regards,
Cory

Barry,
We are currently running the 3.9.2 firmware with our APC branded pdus without issue with our DCE install @ 7.4.3 version.
