Hi,
I am new to Data Center Expert. Where can I download device definition files? I have 4 APC NetworkAIR FM air conditioners I need to add to my console. Thanks.
Jon

The APC NetworkAir FM should already be loaded by default.

Here’s the issue: I was able to discover all four of my NetworkAIR FM units. However, I am only getting up/down status. I need to be able view alarms and alert on alarms from DCE. How do I do that?

Unfortunately I do not have any of the NetworkAir FM units in my environments so let me ask what do you see when you right click on one of the units and choose "View Device Sensors" Do you just see just Link status or do you see other values such at temps etc? Also if you click on the "device tab" on the client's toolbar and then choose SNMP Device Communication Settings" and then "Device Definition Files" and then scroll down thru the list to APC NetworkAir FM what version does it say your running? Have you tried clicking on the Add/Update Definitions button to see if there are newer files available for your system?

When I click Device Sensors, I only get Link Status. In the DDF screen, it indicates I have version 12 of the NetworkAIR FM definitions installed (that seems to be the latest version).

Gotcha. If you were to do a mib walk of the device do you get values for things? Does the device have a web page that you can see values &/or alarms on? (I'm just trying to understand what type of information you should be able to get pulled into DCE that is useful and can setup alarms for)

I can click on the device in DCE and the web interface will open. I can then log into the web interface and see the alarms. Basically, I just want DCE to be able to send text/email alerts when an alarm is tripped. The air units themselves are connected to a separate physical network segments without access to our production network and Internet. The DCE server has two NIC's; one plugged into our production network and another plugged into the data center device network.

At this point I'm going to guess that the DDF needs to be tweaked to work with your units and to do that you will need to visit the https://dcimsupport.apc.com/devices page and it will help to watch their little video on how to request a DDF for your device(s)
