NetBotz Wireless Sensor Update Utility

Attempting to update NBWS100H/T sensors and NBWC100U using the Wireless Device Firmware Update Utility 1.0.1.03. Is there a wireless_firmware.zip file that has the 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 zigbee files.

Hi Barry,

If the wireless sensors are connected to a Netbotz v3 appliance you can follow the set of instructions below:

Access the http:///argusmenu and select "Sync NBWS100 Firmware" (refer to Wireless-sync-firmware) and click submit. It takes about 15 mins per device for the firmware transfer to complete.

Once all sensors that have pending firmware is now the same as the latest firmware push the Apply firmware update button in the UI or select the "apply firmware update" option from the drop-down on the web menu of your appliance (http:///argusmenu).

After clicking the submit button, you should expect the following:

  • The coordinator will receive its own latest FW type (if necessary) via USB. This may take 2 or 3 minutes.
  • After 20 minutes, the NetBotz appliance will send a command to the coordinator telling it to initiate a firmware update switch for the sensors. As the wireless sensors report in "over the air", the coordinator will send the sensors a command telling them to switch their firmware. Once the sensor(s) receive this command they will set a flag and countdown timer to 10 mins.
  • Around 30 mins after the submit button are pushed, the devices (sensors and coordinators) will reboot and start running the new FW version which was stored in the holding flash.

Regards,

Justine

Hi Justine, have been using the update utility to verify and upgrade sensors before sending them to our remote locations. Using the utility is much quicker then using the NetBotz appliance.  On average the utility will update a sensor within a couple of minutes where as the NetBotz appliance can take up to 48 to 72 hours. The latest utility upgrade 1.0.1.03 provided the wireless_firmware.zip file which had the 1.0.4 and 1.0.6 zigbee files.
