Hi, all,
My client has purchased Netbotz Room Monitor 455, the firmware has been upgraded to 4.5.1. Also, he bought a Multi-Tech Wireless Modem for SMS (MTC-H5-B03). We have put the SIM card in and made the SMS modem connect to the internet, but when we connect the Modem to the NetBotz via USB, the device can be powered up but was not able to be detected as a Serial Device in NetBotz Advanced View.
Local Tech Support has confirmed that this specific model is not supported, so I would like to know if anyone can give me some model of SMS modem that NetBotz Room Monitor 455 definitely supports? I prefer the same brand (Multi-Tech Modem), if possible, I also would like to have a list of model numbers of SMS Wireless modem that NetBotz supports.
Thank you,
James

James,
NetBotz v3 supported modems can be found in knowledge base FA158359.

Dear James,
All the modems on the knowledge base (except for the MTCBA-H5) are no longer in production and DCIM Support do not seem to acknowledge this fact. The MTCBA-H5 modems are now End-of-Life and the last time distributors/resellers can place orders with MultiTech is 5 September 2016 for guaranteed availability. If you still want to use the MTCBA-H5 then I would suggest that you order it soon!
Moving on, what driver did you use with the MTC-H5-B03?
We tested the Multitech MultiConnect Cell 100 MTC-H5-B03 last year, and it works with the same driver as the MTCBA-H5. While not tested the Multitech QuickCarrier USB-D MTD-H5 will also work with the MTCBA-H5 driver.
If you want to use the MTCBA-G driver then we've found that the SAMBA75 works with this driver.
The MTCBA-G2-U is no longer in production. We have 3 in stock, if you are interested.

Hi, WireFree, Thanks for your reply. Sorry I am still not very clear about what are the different drivers for? Is that something we need to load onto the device itself? For configuring the modem, I was using "Multi-tech connection manager" and I am able to configure it to connect the Internet. At the customer site, there is no Data Centre Expert (DCE) system, only has a NetBotz Room Monitor 455. If you have any document related to check the device driver version as well as load the driver to the device, could you please send me a copy? thanks very much, Regards James

Plug in the modem and then use the Netbotz Advanced View software. Under the Serial Devices task specify the modem driver that is associated with the modem.
