Hi All,
I am facing a problem with my ISX. It send a test email whenever test tab is pressed but if a real alert occurs in UPS then no alert email is generated. Kindly guide me to solve this issue.

Hi Saqfi,
The first thing I would do is to verify DCE is actually seeing the event. If not, then is may be a polling issue. If it is an APC UPS, make sure priority scanning is enabled. To better get an idea on configuring the system properly to send e-mail, take a look at k-base FA225766.

Hi Saqfi, The only suggestion I can make is to start simple. Create a policy with just this 1 e-mail action and be sure it's a tested "to" address. If the alarm is an "essential alert", this just means it is a pre-configured alert, make sure the device is associated with the policy. If you've manually created thresholds, be sure to add all of them individually. I would also associate a single policy with any device or threshold at least to begin with. If you have the same device in multiple policies, it gets more difficult to figure out what policy is doing what, right or wrong. Steve

Thanks steve! you have done a great favor to me. I have successfully generated an email against an alert. Thanks a lot again. I used default policy and it worked for me.
