When DNS or SNMP information of PDU are modified, even if we force the scan, we need sometimes to reboot DCE in order to take these changes in consideration. Same issue if the connectivity is lost with a PDU (I tried to modify unsuccessfully the Device Scan Settings and the Global Scan Settings) is on SNMP V3
Did anyone already had an Issue like that?

Hi Patrick,
To what specific SNMP info are you referring? If you're just talking about the community names, I've not seen where a reboot is necessary. I can change the community names on a device (granted, I only have APC devices to work with) and as soon as I change the community names in DCE to match, the next poll usually works. I also make sure if I'm only changing the community names on a single device, I create a new entry for that specific IP. If you're referring to other changes, please specify and I'll let you know if I've seen it or can recreate it.
As for changing the hostname of a device in DNS, I have seen numerous results. I have in the past seen where the device will update in 10 minutes. In other cases, I have seen it take over an hour. I believe the system looks for this info in DNS once every hour but I may be wrong. How long have you waited? How frequently are changes such as this made on the same configuration?
Steve
