I was wondering if there was a way to save user configuration custom lines when doing SNMP device configuration? Right now I can't use a template to push users onto the UPSs or Radius secrets, but can push custom lines adding users and the radius secret. Also, if there is not a way to save the custom code or if the firmware doesn't support it, how do I go about adding those without the custom code?
Thank you,
Brett

Hi Brett,
I think it's easier to use the UI and simply add users that way rather than using the "Add Custom Command" button. I've never used that feature myself. If you actually create a user in DCE, you can see what commands that uses. Here I've widened the window just a smidgen:
K-base FA176542 may help in understanding the CLI options.

Hi Brett,
I'm not 100% sure I understand "user configuration custom lines". I can say that anything in the newer (6.x and above) APC SNMP device configuration that is user user configuration:
You can add, remove, modify, and delete. There is no option at this time for saving. This differs from the older configuration simply due to the fact that the older config was the "config.ini" text file that you could obtain from and push to the NMC. I can put in an enhancement request for this option but there's no telling when or if such a feature may be added.
If there's another aspect of this that you need addressed and that I am missing, please let me know.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your response. When you go into User configuration there is a way to write custom command lines to push to the devices and I was hoping to save those configurations. I have some engineers that use the tool, but aren't familiar with the CLI commands, so I was hoping to come up with commands that they could just push to the devices without having to write any commands. Example would be pushing Radius passwords or enabling multiple user access. Comm
Thank you,
Brett
