ITA - 3D Modelling

Hi Team

I need to Design a Server Room on ITA v9.x.x that has Rooms attached to it but separated with solid walls.

Please assist on how I can achieve this. Currently the solution I have is building all the Rooms separately however I want the entire Building Block to show on one single Model.

Hello Tafadzwa,

It should be possible to use the wall drawing tool to add walls to your existing room(s) to expand current rooms and then divide them with solid walls as needed. The wall drawing tool is present in the room view when in Planning mode and appears in the list of icons which appear below the pad lock when the room is unlocked.

Walls can be defined in the genomes list, so when you create a wall genome you can define whether its solid, mesh or clear/glass and set its thickness and height.

If you share cooling between the rooms, there is also a genome called a vertical grill which can be placed on the walls (above or below the floor) which can be placed to allow airflow in and out of the rooms(s).

I'd add screenshots to this response, but I'm having some difficulty adding them to this response.

Regards

Greg Sterling

Hi Greg

Thank you for your response. That problem has been solved.

On a different note, I am having a 3D view issue. hwne I click on the 3D icon for a 3D View, I am getting a blank page. When I try and have a 3D View via the Web Server, rooms are showing up with short equipment e.g the walls I added are not showing in the 3D View also other Floor equipment. Please assist if you have a solution.

Hello Tafadzwa.

Glad to hear the original problem is resolved. The problem viewing the 3D view is in the ITA desktop client?

If yes, one item to try to turning off the anti-aliasing setting, so in the desktop client, choose the Tools menu, then Preferences. In the preferences window, expand the General option, select 3D and try setting the below "anti-aliasing" setting to "Off".
