I have tried positions 1 and 2 in the sensor, with or without a terminator plug. The only pictures of documentation is when you are daisy chaining, not just one single sensor probe. Please help! The EMU will not see the probe. (Both new units)

HI Mari!
You can set any address from 1 to 8 on the sensor, it's not important in your case. Address must be unique in the chain.
Be sure that you takes sensor in right position when setting address (display up)
Be sure that you use regular Cat5 cables, not crossover and shielded cables (Cat6 or Cat7)
Do you see Err symbols in web interface of appliance?
