Hi
Our customer in China wants to add a Emerson air conditioner P1020 to Netboz450. The customer has already add NBWN0006 license to ADview. And he wants to confirm whether he can apply the air conditioner's SNMP DDF via APC . Besides, the netboz is in warranty .
Thanks

Hi Eric!
I'm not sure if Emerson devices can be monitored by Netbotz from the box.
You should contact your local tech support or multivendor support team for DDF and further instructions.
In other hand you can use Supplemental OIDs function and manually configure your conditioners.
Here is manual:
Supplemental OIDs view
Even if advanced data is not available for some SNMP targets, you can still configure Advanced
Scanners to monitor individual OIDs on your target. You can use the Add Supplemental OID function to
manually configure Advanced Scanners to monitor any valid OID on your SNMP targets.
The Supplemental OID view displays a list of supplemental OIDs and a user-defined description of the
OID. To add a supplemental OID:
1. Click Add. The Add Supplemental OID window opens.
2. In the OID field, enter the OID that you want to monitor on the selected SNMP target (for
example, 1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.2.2.2).
3. In the Description field, enter a description of the OID (for example, UPS Temperature).
4. Click OK. Advanced Scanners query the SNMP target to determine whether the OID is valid. If
the OID is valid, it is added to the Advanced Data sensor set.
Once the supplemental OID is added, it is automatically detected on any SNMP target to which it
applies, and you can monitor and receive alert notifications for it.

Hi Eric, As Valentin mentioned, you can use supplemental OIDs to monitor different data points in just about any 3rd party device, assuming they're numeric sensors. As for multivendorsupport, that e-mail address is going away. To get DDFs going forward, you need to go to help.se-dmaas.com/devices. The issue here is that they are not currently creating DDF files for NetBotz devices. DCE DDF files should not be used in NetBotz appliance until they start testing them on NetBotz and specifically note support. I have been communicating with product management and engineering on that point. There may be NetBotz DDF creation in the future. Steve

Hi Valentin and Steven, Thanks a lot for your solutions and feedback . And I will suggest my customer try it. Besides , how can I get 3rd party DCE DDF files for my customers at help.se-dmaas.com/devices? I've browsered the website but didn't find the DDF download menu. Our technical colleague in china told me that the customer need to fill in an application form , prepare the protocol documents and then send them to multivendorsupport. Now it seems this procedure won't work. So,what is the right way to get them at the moment ? Thanks very much Eric

Eric, On that page, you should have an option to type in a model, vendor, product, and query. If it doesn't find one you should get the response: Sorry, no devices match the entry. followed by a request button. Hit that button and you can make a request. As I mentioned, they are currently not creating NetBotz DDFs so I would suggest if you do ask for one, please specify that in you reuqest or you'll get a DCE DDF and it will likely not work. Steve
