We are currently using the Server Racks Australia iPAMM racks in our data centre.
http://www.srasolutions.com.au/products/rack_system/Ipamm/
The main benefit of these racks is that they take the cold underfloor air and duct it in the cavity between the servers and the solid front door inside the rack and therefor do not cool the room generaly, however I suspect DCO will still asume the old in efficient way of cooling ICT equipment when using a generic rack.
Normally you would customise a generic 45U rack gnome to model the same air flow but im not sure how i would do that. Is there a way to do this?
Just for reference These racks come with fan controllers that report fan status as well as intake and exit air temps to DCE.
I am hoping to soon have these figures reported in DCO via a new DDF.

Hi Chad,
I'm sorry to disappoint you, unfortunately the racks you are describing cannot be modeled in DCO (not supported). Generally, "simple" racks (eg. without cooling/fan) can be modeled in DCO.
I understand that this will not reflect the real model, but if the cooling is the main concern then perhaps as a sort of work around using perforated tiles and downflow crac's or similar could be something to try.
By the way you are most welcome to post your feature request(s) here:Feature requests
Kind regards

Hi John,
Sort of 'chimney' functionality is part of device (rack/cooling device) properties (new feature implemented some time ago).
ex: Right click on rack > Properties > Cooling > "Duct to ceiling"
Kind regards
