I'm looking for some advise as to how to handle some of those devices.
According to another forum post, those SmartConnect cloud connected devices will see this:
But I'm NEVER going to get that alert, because I have moved the SmartConnect devices from that cloud portal in order to get them under EcoStruxure IT.
In fact, EcoStruxure IT can't tell me what the "ID" version is. Apparently that's not something they considered or track.
So how am I going to know if I have to - or when to - update the firmware on these devices?

In IT Expert we are building the same information into our Security Assessment. So IT Expert will scan your devices and tell you which of your SmartConnect devices are vulnerable.
We expect to release this improvement soon.

Does "soon" mean April? Or does "soon" mean sometime much later in 2022?
I would love to put NMC's in all of these former SmartConnect devices so as to have a means of updating them properly (never mind monitoring them completely).
However, AP9640's are not available at any distributor because of supply chain problems.
Do you have a procedure whereby I can remove these from EcoStuxure IT and get them back under SmartConnect control?

Hi Larry
I expect the Security Assessment to be released in 2 weeks. Depending on testing and QA.
There are three ways to update them:
1. For units connected to the SmartConnect Portal, new firmware will become available automatically. Follow prompts via the portal or display to install new firmware.
2. For units not connected to the SmartConnect Portal, use the Firmware Upgrade Wizard to install the new firmware.
3. For those devices which include a NMC, it can be used to remotely update the firmware of the UPS.
When downloading updates, only download from the official Schneider Electric sources above and ensure that hashes are verified before installation.
IF you want to move the devices to the SmartConnect portal for upgrades do the following:
1. Unclaim them in IT Expert. This can be done in the Inventory by the "Remove" button
2. Go to SmartConnect portal and claim them.
You can do the reverse afterwards to return them to IT Expert.
