Hi, how can i see event logs of symmetra UPS on my DCE. I am able to see historical alarms but not event logs. Also how can i ensure that anytime there is an event / alarm it is sent to DCE, as currently alarms and data logs are retrieved only after 1 minute.

Hi Shaf,
The historical alarms that you see in DCE should be similar to the device event logs. The event logs are recorded in DCE when they occur in the device. If priority scanning is enabled for Symmetra UPS: When an event occurs at the APC device, the device sends an SNMP trap to the DCE server. DCE receives the trap and then polls the device for alert information and it is shown on DCE software and recorded as well. You are correct that the data logs are stored as per the device scan interval, but the event or alarms are recorded when they occur.
If you want to download the event logs from the UPS NMC, then you can follow the below K-base document link instructions to download the event logs of NMC.

I hope it clarifies your query.
Regards,
Bala

Also, although DCE receives SNMP traps/informs, it doesn't process them other than moving the APC device to the top of the polling queue. I.e. DCE is not a traditional SNMP trap/inform or syslog receiver. If you want this functionality right now, you need to deploy it your self - its not too hard.
If you want this functionality in DCE in a future release, pls raise a Feature Request.
Cheers
Ed
