Ecostruxure ITA connectivity

I have noticed that the coloured dot in the bottom right hand corner of the desktop client has turned red and sometimes disappears altogether.  I am used to seeing a green dot indicating a healthy network connection.  What can be done for checking this is not the application before I ask my networks teams for advice?  My log files and backups are all updated today in the usual place for scrutiny.

Changes I make in the web client do still seem to be captured and updated in the desktop client - so the connection is still ok but perhaps not very fast or consistent?  The first I noticed of this problem was Friday 10th February roughly 15:30.

Hello Nigel, yes the dot in the lower right side of the desktop client is usually a represention of the desktop client's connectivity to the ITA server. The desktop client heartbeats to the ITA server on a regular basis which is why you may see the dot change from time to time.

Any log information related to the dot turning red should be visible in your client log files.

The Data Center Operation installation folder, default location:
Windows:   C:\Users\[Username]\.isxo\[Version]\Operations\application.log
OS X:         ~/.isxo/[Version]/Operations/application.log

Regards

Greg Sterling

Thanks Greg.  As I suspected, it is an authentication problem.  Application log says "External user access unauthorized".  This had been suggested by error messages on the desktop application.  I will pursue internally with networks & teams here but if you have any suggestions or if it might possibly be an error generated by the application please reply.
