Could someone please explain how the A & B ends of an entry in this table are decided? E.g. I have 2 devices with 3 connections between them as follows
ci_id_a | ci_id_b
--------------------------------------+--------------------------------------
6a97ad87-f95e-4db0-a779-ad95bc4bfbcd | 85f6b90e-db09-478f-8d46-4e2655c00397
85f6b90e-db09-478f-8d46-4e2655c00397 | 6a97ad87-f95e-4db0-a779-ad95bc4bfbcd

I'm trying to count used ports for assets with ci_type LIKE 'Layer%NetworkGear'. Or is there an easier way to get this info?

Hi Ed
As I remember the A and B end of a network cable depends on the way the cable is created. If the cable is created from Switch to Server then the Switch UUID will be in the ci_id_a column, and the server UUID will be in the ci_id_b column.
Does that answer your question?
Best,
Niels
